Like many young men his age, Momo Jallah was forcibly recruited into a fighting force.

Momo wanted to avoid having to kill people or commit the kinds of atrocities he had seen and heard about, so he convinced his troop leaders of his technical skills, securing a position fixing the group's radios and facilitating communication. Since the war, he has continued developing his skills and works in community radio, promoting peace and access to good information.
